MCMI-MM extends from artwork Midori Mitamura and Ry Haskings presented together in Melbourne in early 2023 after much discussion through the pandemic period on their practices and the incidental relationships discovered between their working methods. In this exhibition Mitamura and Haskings draw directly from historical references specific to the 20th century. Through poetic lines of connections between historical events, aesthetic ploys and spatial interventions, both artists intertwine their individual perspectives through a variety of installation, sculptural and pictorial approaches to making.
